Ofsted Results
We are celebrating an excellent outcome in our latest Ofsted inspection (January 2026).
In the recently published report, Inspectors praised The Castle Rock School for its “rapid journey of improvement since it joined the Lionheart Educational Trust” in 2022, noting significant progress across leadership, teaching, behaviour and pupil attainment. Under the new inspection framework, the school achieved one area of ‘Strong Standard’ and six areas of ‘Expected Standard’.
Key Strengths Identified by Ofsted
Inspectors highlighted that leaders “act in the best interests of all pupils as they work towards the school’s ambitious vision for pupils to flourish” and “identify the right priorities and work towards achieving the best possible outcomes and experiences for pupils.”
They found that pupils experience “a calm, purposeful and welcoming environment. They are well known and cared for by staff,” and benefit from “comprehensive pastoral support” that helps them feel “understood, valued and included.”
Safeguarding was also recognised as a significant strength. Inspectors noted that the school has “an open culture in which safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and concerns are actively identified, acted upon and managed. As a result, pupils feel safe.”
Sixth Form
Ofsted inspectors also praised our sixth form provision, noting that:
“Teachers have expert knowledge of the subjects they teach.”
“The curriculum is coherently planned and sequenced so that knowledge builds over time. It has been designed to meet students’ academic needs and career aspirations.”
Associate Principal, Roma Dhameja, said:
“This report is a milestone, not a destination. We will continue striving to ensure every pupil at The Castle Rock School flourishes academically, socially and personally.”
